Inspection of first custom Fairlead

Earlier this year ECTMarine has received an order for a set of fairleads with custom features to withstand exposure to extreme conditions. One of the main issues was the seizure of the existing rollers and the failure of function of the fairlead as a consequence of harsh conditions on constant open sea.

To ensure sustained function and dimensional fit in the vessel our engineering team has customized our fairlead design to ensure 100% fit with the application.

Component selection plays a crucial role in the overall performance and service life of the fairlead. Special attention was given to the selection of rollers, seals, and bearing components. For the plain bearings, ECTMarine selected DRIE-D’s D-glide® F material. These maintenance-free composite bushings were chosen for their proven performance, low friction characteristics, and suitability for demanding marine and offshore environments.

This inspection of the first fairlead is performed to ensure full compliance with our design criteria for the full set off 12.

Each fairlead weighs approximately 2300kG and has a save working load of 55 tons.

The fairleads we design and produce are 100% designed and made in Europe.
